C-H-R-I-S-T-M-A-S Spells Christmas
Primary 1-3 pupils participated in the nativity, C-H-R-I-S-T-M-A-S Spells Christmas. They were absolutely fantastic during our rehearsals and on the days our friends and families were in the audience. P4-7 pupils then got everyone in the mood for Christmas with their Christmas songs. Lovely memories!
Book Week Scotland, November 2024
As a school we recognised and celebrate Book Week Scotland.
A Sway was sent home to parents with a snapshot of learning and opportunities pupils experienced throughout the week.
Pupils Leading Learning
Our Digital Leaders did a great job sharing their knowledge and expertise in coding when they led learning opportunities across the school. They visited all classes, demonstrating and supporting pupils as required, to ensure pupils had the opportunity to experience block-coding and develop problem solving skills during their session with the Indi Robot.
Eco Champions At Work
Our pupils do a great job of keeping our school free of rubbish. Our P7 Buddies supported P1 pupils during their first litter pick in Primary 1.
NPS Big Breakfast
The SGF Healthy Living Programme have successfully ran several Big Breakfast events in conjunction with local retailers across Scotland over the last year.
The new Spar store (previously Scotfresh) asked if SGF Healthy Living Programme could hold a Big Breakfast in Nethermains and we were delighted to accept the invite and give our pupils this great opportunity.
A Sway was sent home to parents with a snapshot of our morning.
Live Theatre Event!
Pupils had the opportunity to experience a live performance of F.H. Burnett's children's novel, The Secret Garden. The amazing cast from M&M Productions were fantastic at bringing this heartwarming story to life and had many singing along to the cleverly included modern songs at the end.
Silver Reading Accreditation
Along with last year's P7 Reading Reps, this fantastic group of children supported our successful challenge of achieving the Scottish Book Trust's, Silver Reading Accreditation in June 2024. Reading Reps gave up their time and enthusiastically embraced working towards this achievement, however, it is important to acknowledge that we could not have achieved this award without every single member of staff and most importantly, every single pupil's participation in reading for enjoyment- even those who wouldn't normally choose to. We are very proud of everyone and look forward to continuing to participate in many reading for enjoyment opportunities.
P2 Library Visit
Primary 2 visited Denny Library on 12th September. It was a hugely successful trip. The sun was out for our walk, the children engaged enthusiastically with the books in the library and thoroughly enjoyed a story read by Debbie, one of the librarians. The library staff were super impredded with our pupils and we were very proud of them. Huge thanks to the volunteer who enabled some of our youngest children to walk into town safely!
