Why is School Uniform Important?

 

School uniform is an important part of school life.  School uniform gives the pupils a sense of belonging and pride in their school community.  Pupils look smart and feel ready to work when wearing the clothes they associate with school.  It helps maintain high standards of behaviour and respect within school.  Also, from a safety point of view, it helps to make pupils recognisable when on school trips.  

 

This leaflet will give you guidance on the types of clothes which are acceptable forms of school uniform, and outline those which are not to be worn to school.

 

While there are many variations of acceptable uniform, it would be appreciated if pupils were to wear shirts and ties for occasions such as assemblies or class trips.

Acceptable Items of Uniform for Boys   Yellow polo shirt (with or without school badge) White shirt School tie Purple/Black jumper (P7 only) (with or without school badge) Plain black or grey trousers or shorts. Plain black school shoes	Acceptable Items of Uniform for Girls   Yellow polo shirt (with or without school badge) White shirt School tie Purple/Black jumper (p7 only)or cardigan (with or without school badge) Plain black or grey trousers, leggings, shorts, or skirts Yellow summer dresses in the warmer months
Clothes for P.E Lessons Pupils should have a change of clothes for P.E lessons, including: Shorts or sports trousers T-shirt or polo shirt A change of shoes Football colours should never be worn.	Unacceptable Items of Clothing Please do not send pupils to school wearing: Hooded tops Jumpers with logos on the front or sleeves Trainers (other than plain black) Coloured or patterned tights or leggings Jogging bottoms

 

Please note that most uniform items can be bought from local supermarkets.  If you would like your jumper, cardigan or polo shirt to have the school badge, these can be ordered from RJM in Falkirk.

We absolutely understand that these can be considerably more expensive to buy and are happy for children to come to school with non-badged items.
